The Third Annual
Recognizing the unique opportunities provided by the Monongahela River to its riparian communities and citizens, the Monongahela River Recreation & Commerce Committee of Vision 2020 has scheduled the Monongahela River Summits to provide a forum for discussion of River issues.
Sessions allow attendees to share information about new developments, register their concerns about current problems and to propose creative solutions or original opportunities.
Topics have included river commerce, shoreside recreation, riverside construction, boating, fishing & swimming, water quality, and government regulation
This year the focus will on River Commerce," primarily on the Upper Mon River (from Fairmont WV to about 60 miles north to the mid-point of the Mon, at Maxwell lock and dam, Fredericktown PA).
The format for this years summit is a committee of the whole meeting with guest speakers and opportunities for people to voice their concerns about current problems and to propose creative solutions or original opportunities dealing with the Mon River.
During breaks attendees will have an opportunity to share information on other river developments through posters and table displays.
